What is IP Code?
IP Code (Ingress Protection Code) is an international standard system that classifies and rates the degree of protection provided by mechanical casings and electrical enclosures against intrusion, dust, accidental contact, and water.
The level of protection provided by an enclosure is represented by an “IP” code (i.e. IP34). The First Digit indicates protection against ingress of solid foreign objects having a diameter of 2,5 mm and greater. The Second Digit indicates protection against harmful effects due to water splashed against the enclosure from any direction.
